Balancing Local Responsibility and International Growth
I was born and raised in Pernitz in the Piesting Valley – the very place where PREIS Group’s head office is located today. The paths I used to take to school as a child now lead me to the office. I have known many of my colleagues for years – not only from work, but also as neighbours, fellow club members or friends. This close connection to the region is much more than a sense of home to me – it is part of my identity and a cornerstone of our entrepreneurial success.
What I have learned in my career is this: local roots and international growth are not mutually exclusive. On the contrary – they reinforce one another. I am a committed European. I believe in the idea of an open, connected and strong Europe. And I am firmly convinced that our regional roots create the stability we need to continue developing internationally.
Why Our Roots Make Us Strong
As a family-owned company, we carry responsibility – not only for our economic actions, but also for the people at our locations. Whether in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia or Bosnia and Herzegovina, our local teams are deeply rooted in their regions.
Many of our employees have been working with us for decades. For me, this loyalty and continuity are an expression of trust and a truly lived corporate culture.
Globally Active, Locally Rooted
Today, we supply customers in more than 40 countries and operate in highly specialised niche markets. This requires international experience, intercultural understanding and technical excellence. Yet precisely within this global complexity, it is essential to have a clear stance.
What our customers value about PREIS Group is not only the quality of our products. It is also our authentic approach: our reliability, our clear commitment and the trustworthiness of our word. These are all values that connect us across all borders.
Values as a Compass in Changing Times
The world is changing – rapidly, complexly and often unpredictably. In times like these, we need clarity about what truly matters. For me, these are reliability, respect, technical expertise and a genuine commitment to creating long-term added value – for our customers, our employees and our partners.
Our regional identity is not a contradiction to international thinking. It is our inner compass. It helps us make decisions with foresight – while keeping our feet firmly on the ground. That is exactly what makes the difference to me.
My Personal Conclusion
I am convinced that sustainable success is created when we do not forget our roots, but consciously use them as a strength. Our international relationships have shaped me, just as many of our long-standing employees have. They give us stability, trust and identity – especially in a world that is constantly changing. At the same time, we must never lose sight of the bigger picture. Openness, curiosity and European thinking drive us forward. For me, the connection between regional roots and an international perspective is not a compromise, but our recipe for success.
Especially in today’s world, where social tensions and geopolitical challenges are increasing, I firmly believe that intercultural openness and mutual respect could pave the way for solutions in many areas. If we are willing to learn from one another, build bridges and understand diversity as a strength, then we have a real opportunity for the future – not only economically, but also as a society.
